Crainco - 5 Pillars of Excellence

1990

Crainco, Inc. was founded on April 1, 1990 with just two cranes and operated as a home-based business for several years. The company’s founders and today’s leaders Brian and Diane Smith, a husband and wife team, started out renting just two small Dynalift sign cranes. The pair had regular full-time jobs with Brian working the Crainco phones and job sites in the early morning hours and Diane handling the admin and billing in the afternoons once she finished her day shift. Their first project involved providing a man basket for a tree-trimming project at the church they were married at.

1992

Crainco opened a 5-acre facility with office space and a large storage yard in Santa Fe Springs, CA after only two years in business. Crainco quickly became one of the most well known over-the-road mobile crane services in the Southern California market and built a diverse network of clientele.

1999

Crainco moved into their current yard/office on Painter Ave in Santa Fe Springs, expanding its mobile crane service and adding a rental division to serve more customers across Southern California.

2005

Crainco, Inc. is one of the first companies to have a Manitex 5096S in its fleet. This crane allowed for operation without a pilot car or accessory for the first time in history.

2020

Crainco celebrates 30 years in business with an expanded service area from San Diego to Santa Barbara and a solid reputation for customer service, safety and compliancy. The company’s mobile crane division ranges from 15-tons to 110-tons and includes manufacturers such as National, Manitex, Link-Belt and Broderson, and the rental division includes an extensive inventory of Pro Lifts, Scissorlifts, Forklifts, and articulating booms from manufacturers including Haulotte, Genie, Skyjack, JLG, Toyota & Gradall.
